1. Purpose & Scope

This Standard Operating Procedure (SOP-002) governs the process for family law attorneys and law firms who refer clients to New Day Mobile DNA Collection & Testing LLC for DNA collection and testing services in connection with legal proceedings.

This SOP is designed to ensure that attorneys can refer clients quickly, confidently, and with full knowledge that every collection will be handled with the chain-of-custody integrity and documentation precision required for court admissibility.

WHO THIS SOP IS FOR
Family law attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants, and any firm staff who coordinate DNA testing referrals on behalf of clients involved in paternity, custody, child support, or related family court proceedings.
2. Why Your Referral Matters — What We Need From Your Office

When you refer a client to us, your office becomes the anchor of the case. We need the right information to open the file correctly, assign the proper test type, and ensure results are delivered back to you in a format your court will accept. The stronger your intake submission, the faster we can move.

A complete referral from your office includes:

KEY RULE
We never schedule a collection for a court-ordered case without a copy of the court order in hand. Please include it with your referral or upload it to the Partner Portal.
3. Approved Referral Channels

Attorneys and law firm staff may refer clients and submit case requests through the following approved channels:

4. Required Information at Time of Referral

The following information is required to open a case file. Incomplete referrals will be placed on hold until missing information is received. Providing complete information at time of referral eliminates delays.

6. Attorney Referral Workflow — Step by Step
1 Referral SubmittedAttorney or firm staff submits case via Partner Portal, attorney intake line, or partner email with all required information.
2 Case Opened & ConfirmedIntake team opens the case file within 2 hours (business hours) and sends a confirmation with assigned case number to the referring attorney.
3 Court Order Verified (if applicable)If the case is court-ordered, our team reviews the order to confirm the test type, parties named, and compliance deadline before proceeding.
4 Client Contacted by Our TeamWe contact all parties directly to schedule collection. Your office does not need to coordinate scheduling — we handle all follow-up.
5 Appointment ConfirmedCollection appointment confirmed to all parties and to your office. You receive the scheduled date, time, and location.
6 Mobile Collection PerformedCertified collector arrives, verifies IDs, completes chain-of-custody documentation, collects samples, and seals and ships them to the lab same-day.
7 Results Certified & DeliveredCertified results delivered to your firm via Portal or encrypted email, with collector affidavit and lab certification letter — ready for court submission.
8 Case ArchivedFull case file archived for 5+ years. Certified copy re-issuance available at any time upon attorney request.

Every collection performed by New Day Mobile DNA includes the following documentation as standard — no exceptions, no additional charges:

Our results package is designed specifically for Florida family court. If opposing counsel ever challenges the collection methodology, we provide full documentation support to your office including collector testimony if ordered by the court.

Encrypted EmailResults sent to attorney of record email address via encrypted delivery. Available upon request.
Hard Copy (Certified)Printed certified result package mailed to your office. Allow 2 additional business days.

Client CopyClient always receives their own certified copy simultaneously with attorney delivery.
IMPORTANT
Results are NEVER disclosed verbally over the phone, texted, or sent via unsecured email. This protects your client and protects the legal integrity of the result.

11. Attorney Responsibilities in the Referral Process

As the referring attorney, your office is responsible for:

  1. Ensuring client consent to be tested has been obtained prior to referral submission
  2. Providing accurate and complete referral information — incomplete referrals cause delays
  3. Submitting court orders promptly — scheduling cannot proceed without them for court-ordered cases
  4. Notifying your client that New Day Mobile DNA will contact them directly to schedule
  5. Communicating any case-specific sensitivities, safety concerns, or party conflicts to our intake team
  6. Notifying us immediately if a case is dismissed, settled, or if the DNA order is vacated

Your assigned case liaison is your first point of contact for any question or concern related to an active case. If you do not have an assigned liaison, contact us through any of the following:

Attorney Referral Acknowledgment
